The 2022 trip added a new entry to the log: a hike up Ice Cave Mountain. The trail delivered — views of the lake from above, a genuine ice cave worth the detour, and enough vertical to justify the post-hike appetite.
Back at camp, KD2MYS and KD2WFX ran portable HF while the light held. By dark the fire was going and the stars above North Lake put on the kind of show that's hard to describe and impossible to photograph adequately — though someone tried anyway.
